I think there’s a problem accessing SGDaily using Singnet. Anyone else having this problem with other ISP’s?

    I have been having trouble accessing sg daily from my home. I can access sometimes but most of the time I can’t access the site. I have a singnet account. I haven’t encountered the same problem at work. It is a starhub account here. Are there others with similar problems?
    I have assumed that traffic was high at the times that I tried accessing from home.

  2. Angrysgboy Says:

    Starhub here no problem

  3. vinyarb Says:

    Could be your hosting provider’s server not stable. I’ve had intermittent downtimes accessing your site. I used to have this problem too. Then I changed webhoster, and now its better.

    Which hosting are you using?

  4. ErniesUrn Says:

    Singnet. Problem here. Error message alwyas appears. And only after a few tries of refreshing am I able to access.

    I hate to say this, but I saw this bfr once with this site that I used to hang out in called icered.com. At its height, it was the most popular hang out for both the Hongki and Sg happening crowd. They managed to get 90% of the professional market.

    Same thing. Like now. You can ask anyone. If you dont believe me. Go ahead. At first it was difficult to access. Then nearly impossible. The operators said, it was just a glitch. Very much like now? Then suddenly one day for no apparent reason it just dropped off the radar and disappeared under mysterious circumstances for good.

    They left such a big hole even today if you go around the HK blogosphere and mention icered. Most people will say that was the golden age. It’s happening all over again. And I am powerless to stop it.

    “I think there’s a problem accessing SGDaily using Singnet. Anyone else having this problem with other ISP’s?”

    Dont bluff. There is no problem. The same guys are just pulling out one wire at the time and loading everything very quietly into the bus. So as not to cause a general wave of panic?

    This is so standard and typical of only one group in SG blogosphere. No one pulls this stunt except them. And they are famous for it.

    How can singnet be unstable? Do you have any idea what you are talking abt?

    You must really think we are all stupid, deaf and dumb for not figuring out what is really happening behind the scene.

    I;ve noticed for example. The “popular post” ticker not a single read classification even gets listed.

    All their readers have left haven’t they? This is just a shell. A ghost town.

    Its time for me to go as well. I just came here from time to time to check off my suspicions. I’ve seen enough.

    Bye Bye

    Starfug here also. I can comment which means I can read your site lah

  8. singaporedaily Says:

    @Vinyarb
    GoDaddy. Maybe I’ll email them later. Could be a coincidence but might have something to do with the recent DNS patch released.

    @science park slave rat
    Not entirely sure what you are getting at, but I can assure you that we are not “packing up” :-)

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

  9. Abao Says:

    @SgDaily: Singnet needs 1 refresh in order to display the contents of the site.

    As for the arrest of Venerable Ming Yi, i have nothing much to comment about. Innocent till proven guilty (and I would hope he gets tried fairly, or a British/ HK court)

    About the NDP, well it used to be nice when i was a kid, but after the year 2000, the quality of the shows began to decline and i do not ever watch it anymore. Its a huge waste of manpower, taxpayers monies and serving NS-men in my honest opinion, which could be at least used to produce something more substantial, like a goodie pack or cash vouchers for the citizens.

    As for not holding the By-Election, well the ruling party has tacitly admitted that it is afraid of losing the GRC in this way. I believe it’s unconstitutional anyway, but i shall not comment on that instead:

    Filling of vacancies
    49. —(1) Whenever the seat of a Member, not being a non-constituency Member, has become vacant for any reason other than a dissolution of Parliament, the vacancy shall be filled by election in the manner provided by or under any law relating to Parliamentary elections for the time being in force.

    (2) The Legislature may by law provide for —

    (a) the vacating of a seat of a non-constituency Member in circumstances other than those specified in Article 46;

    (b) the filling of vacancies of the seats of non-constituency Members where such vacancies are caused otherwise than by a dissolution of Parliament.

    … … … …

  10. Loyola Says:

    Sure, I can read your site.

  11. singaporedaily Says:

    @Abao

    The Ren Ci thing is really sad. Not for the monk but for everyone who trusted and saw him as the embodiment of Buddhist virtuosity.

    Re the NDP, it would be great if we could tone down the extravagance to conserve energy and resources. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone in Parliament have the guts to push for this.

    As for the actions of PAP in recent times, hai… *shake head*

  12. Molly Says:

    Still can’t access Singapore Daily with Singnet. :(

  13. home Says:

    for me, at home, on Singnet - first click, cannot access.
    2nd click - I get in immediately.
    Donch know why.
