Daily SG: 18 Jul 2008

I was online at my brother’s place yesterday and there is definitely a problem accessing SGDaily from Singnet. Its not 100% inaccessible. I can load this page maybe 6 out of 10 tries. This is what I do:

- Search “singapore daily” in Google
- Click the “Cached” link of SGDaily in the search result
- You’ll get the cached version of SGDaily
- If the cached version is up to date, do a victory skip and dance :-)
- If its not up to date, click on either the links “Home” or “Daily Sg” (under Categories) on the left panel. You should be able to load this page. If it doesn’t, try again or go back to step 2 >.<

This problem is a royal pain in the butt. Please bear with us while I try to sort this out with GoDaddy and Singnet.

If there are any PAP people reading this, do your leaders a favour and buy them Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein when they next invite you for tea. There’s also a blog on it.

“the famous example of a “nudge” is at Schiphol Airport in Holland. Airport managers were fed up with the state of the gents. Men were none too accurate in their aim. Warnings and signs did no good so designers tried a “nudge”. A black fly was etched into the porcelain of each urinal – something to aim at. Spillages were reduced 80%.” Source
