UNSOLICITED OFFER OF PEACE TO DISCUSS THE ISTHMUS ORELLA INCIDENT / TO THE FC BOYS OF THE BROTHERHOOD / RATE URGENT.
Let me just be clear on a few points. We, the confederation do not want to pick a fight with the brotherhood. On 15 Sept 2008 at 0730 GMT, the brotherhood dispatch a message to the standing committee of the confederation requesting a ticket to table a bill, we issued out a ticket promptly, No 503. When SC asked for the preamble of the bill, we were informed this was not important, despite common knowledge that this is the usual standard operational procedure for tabling a bill in Primus. Instead the brotherhood dispatch a 3rd stage navigator from the interspacing guild who mentioned in his words, “we do not want anyone to know that we are behind this, please arrange for the Laanstrad to submit the details of the bill.” The standing committee felt this request was a departure from the usual practice of tabling a bill. Nevertheless, they tried their utmost to establish contact with the Laanstrad who informed us, “we don’t know anything about this bill.” On 17th Sept 2008 at 1300 hr after these turn of events the confederation declared the ticket null and void. Following that incident, brotherhood announced in the strangelands they would be sending their “fist of God” fleet to conduct military space maneuvers in the Isthmus Orella sector. This is clearly in contravention of section 14 (3) of the IGFL 5400. On the 17th Sept 2008 at 2300 hr, brotherhood space fleet unilaterally declared a 300 parsetille exclusion cordon around the Asimova system. Again this act of provocation is in contravention of the section 6 of the ICLF. On the 17th Sept 2008 at 2330 hr, brotherhood forces opened fire on a three space convoys / one Aryanian deep space frigate, the Demeter was destroyed will all hands and the other two supply vessels the KDD Nebraska and KDD Tai Chung were badly damaged. Following this unprovoked attack, the confederation informed the Laanstrad and we all agreed that we should seek an explanation from the brotherhood. In total the Laanstrad dispatch nearly 30 com-sats and even a diplomat vessel, KDD Karkov was on standby. On the 18th Sept 2008 at 0630, the KDD Karkov was destroyed.
At 18th Sept 2008 at 1330 hr GMT, we formally requested a meeting with the Diplomatic Corp of the Brotherhood. We were informed such a meeting was unnecessary and whatever that needed to be said there would be mentioned on the day when the bill would be submitted! During the meeting, the brotherhood made a specific threat, stating that they may have to re-evaluate our trading concessions, short of a declaration of war, we were also informed, brotherhood forces, namely the Totenkopf, Germania and the Ottomans have been teleported to the Arulliane plains to protect of Sardonyx mineral sites. We informed the brotherhood, those sectors we safe and even if we need assistance, we could request it directly from the Laanstrad. No reply came, our com-link in Sardonyx has been cut, our pro-consul is missing and we suspect he has been detained. Instead the brotherhood have come up with a peaceful co-existence sphere committee comprising of rebel forces. Gentlemen, we strongly object and protest and we will be lodging a formal protest to the ICL, if all these infractions are not corrected before 23rd Sept 2008.
As I mentioned earlier gentlemen. Neither the confederation or the Laanstrad want to see this matter escalate further than it has already. We will arrange for a real world face to face meeting to discuss this matter off line. We remain hopeful of reaching an agreement. We would also like to deal with Darkness, if that is possible. The local rep of the confederation and one representative from the Laanstrad will make the necessary arrangements.

To his Excellency Senator Orjutono,
We warned all of you. But you people did not listen to us.
Instead both the confederation and the Lanstraad has been mounting a slow and steady campaign to edge us out from the sphere of influence by deliberately gagging all our diplomats on practically every single occasion.
The latest cockememe was when the confederation attempted to rewrite the rules of the game by claiming since we only represented 0.0001% of the gaming fraternity, we should not have a voice and instead be represented by through the Laanstrad. We have informed the confederation repeatedly that we do not consider this proxy arrangement to be suitable to guarantee our rights to sovereignty. The confederation has replied by repeatedly denying us a right to speak, hence our ticket number today stands at a record level of 503! That means we have asked to speak 503 times and our request has been denied 503 times!
Our diplomats have already submitted a 5 point dicta to the confederation. It includes the immediate resignation of the Council in the Confederation. Please sign it and we promise you we will be more than willing to sign a cease fire – we will also pull out of Sardonyx sector and our fleet will end the blockade of the Isthmus there after.
If you people want to talk shop after that, that is fine with us, we can meet in any part of the world and we can perhaps even hammer out an agreement of sorts. On that I am very confident. But before this can even be seriously considered, we first want our 5 point dicta to be unanimously agreed and ratified by the Laanstrad and the Internationale Mercantile Guild.
Meanwhile a de facto state of war has been declared and the declared exclusion zone around the Isthmus will stand. And all our official channels will be severed with the confederation.

My Dear Fellow Brothers,
We should not be fighting amongst ourselves. We have been following this development very closely from afar. In the hope that reason will prevail. Unfortunately, we have good reason to believe, there will be yet another round of escalation in the Isthmus affair.
May I inform you all that this is will affect virtually every family with the brotherhood.
As Carthiginains, we are but humble cartographers. But even we are affected by this. It goes without saying every family in the universe knows and trust us. They know we are neutral and we serve no particular interest except that which furthers the cause of peace. Neither are we allied to the Mercantile Guild or the Laanstrad or Laanstra.
We would like to offer our services as intermediatries to see whether we can find a sensible way to close this divide between the FC boys and the Confederation.
A venue has been arranged, each house from the Laanstra will be sending a representative. The Mercantile Guild will also be present along with two envoys from the Navigation guild. I have been told, they do not wish to participate directly in the negotiations as they are only there in the capacity of observers. The Mineral Mining Concessionary (KTE) will be sending two trade observers. I have been told they wish to protect their interest in the Sardonyx sector. It seems they have received disturbing reports, the brotherhood have unilaterally seized many of their mines.
The Confederation will be sending their team and the Internationale will chair the meeting.
Gentlemen all in all, this will be one of the biggest gathering.

It will help us loads :) if you guys can signify acceptance? We are trying very hard to bring people together for the common good, but we dont want to incur cost to our many of our subscribers. They are after all paying for all this. Brotherhood it will be a good idea that you arrange for one secure line to be open, so that we can call contact you. We have noticed since Darkness departure, it has been almost impossible to contact any of you. It seems none of you even want to talk to any of us any longer. I know each an everyone of you, Ortojuno served beside me in the Ascension Wars, he was one of my most trusted commanders. Kadjal who represented the guilds was one of my trusted adsivors, he was instrumental in Pillium and as for the others, we have probably interacted in one way or another. We have a history gentlemen.
The question now gentlemen is how do we move forward? As I see it Harphoon is now the head of the brotherhood. And he is eminently qualified for the role. All of you must understand that I am no longer in the picture and I can offer nothing in the way of providing any solution to this impasse. You should not look to me, but my successor.
I am but a mere spectator to all this, but I ask myself, how is it possible that 503 request was made to the confederation and how is it we have 503 rejections? This boggles the imagination gentlemen.
One thing is clear, if you cut our rights to address the confederation that is as good as denying us water, the brotherhood will go to war on this one count alone. Gentlemen we will mobilize and go to war! We will never fight a war in our home ground, we are like the Israelites, we will seize land and after that we will go to the UN. Unfortunately this has happened.
And they have decided to go to war. Everyday that this impasse continues, it will cost the treasury 2 million Imperiums, it has to come from somewhere and so the mineral rich region of Sardonyx has been seized.
Gentlemen, I will break bread with you. How can I not do so, as I know all of you and it could be said, we share a common thread in history, we are brothers in more ways than I can possibly elaborate, but then again how is it possible that the confederation has managed to reject our bill to pass a motion in the legation for over 503 times? This remains not only perplexing to me but many in our ranks do not believe they have been fair to us.
We welcome you to our city of Singapore, but I would like to state categorically with the kind permission of Harphoon, I will be present for the discussions. However, I can offer nothing in the way of a solution. Neither can I be part of the solution. I will simply have to remain very quiet and hope that some solution will arise between all of you. As I mentioned previously, Harphoon is now the leader of the brotherhood and my role is simply to affirm this as a fact, we are not like a certain political party that promotes the cult of personalities. In our fraternity when a man passes on, he does so in the fervent hope that those who take the mantle will be able to do a better job than him. I believe firmly in this and I expect all to respect this.
I hope to see most of you in the Esplanade and it could be said it has been a long time, but let us not forget that we hold in our belief our efforts the hope of a better tomorrow.

Correction: the actual figure at the current rate of exchange / imperium = Shekelian is 22.7 Million Imperiums i.e the cost of an entry level 3 series BMW.
That’s what it’s costing us every single day!

Well folks,
I think we should all go cycling tomorrow night and talk about this, bring some cigarettes and a decent torchlight, last thing I want to do is mistake a log for a python like we did the last time, that nearly took off 5 years off me - we’ve all just sit down underneath the tree next to the prison in Changi and talk it over.
I mean it would be pretty dumb if all of us met up with those confederation boys in humble house and we don’t even know what’s the final billing to all this is, bring the financials (the detailed ones) and lets take a long and hard look at the number, then I think we would all be a better position to make an informed decision. I mean if I am going to fight a war and all we have is two cents in the piggy bank, then its best if we all just put on our knee pads and start begging for mercy, gentlemen I am a Cantonese and we are very practical people, mah seih lok teih hang – horse die, man walk - What you think Harphy, you care to join?
