Jointly organised by the NBL and NTU’s Centre for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, this is a Symposium for all who promote and have an interest in Singapore Literature in English.

Lee Tzu Pheng and Robert Yeo will open the symposium with a dialogue about their experiences as writers, recalling the heady days of the sixties when they and the most promising poets/writers of their generation had their beginnings, and who are now established writers with substantial bodies of work. The Symposium will also feature the generation of writers who followed them. The day will end with a cocktail reception with poetry readings and a musical performance developed by Stella Kon, author of Emily of Emerald Hill.

Admission is free. To register, please select ‘add to cart’. Registration closes on 24 October 2008. For enquiries or registration by organisations/institutions, please contact Ms Sharon Chen at 6333 7912 or email Sharon_CHEN@nlb.gov.sg

Hello. I’m amused that you featured that garbage post by Andrew Loh but not my criticism of that post. =)

  2. Panzer Says:

    Hi

I think the relevant post should be this one unless you wanted to include the hardwarezone forum comments.

    @Han,
What happen between you and TOC? I thought you guys were friends.

    @Panzer
    Thanks, link fixed.

  5. Han Says:

I’m not anti-ToC. I’m anti-garbage. It just so happens that ToC has content of varying quality and some of which are garbage. And I point it out.

  6. Panzer Says:

    @Sgdaily

    Muchos gracias. Thx.

    Dear all,

Seeking An Audience: A Symposium on Singapore Literature in English
Jointly organised by the NBL and NTU’s Centre for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences,
Lee Tzu Pheng and Robert Yeo.

I would have very liked to have pay my respects to these two authors. As not only do I know their works well, but I have always had a deep admiration for them.

They were much ahead of me, in so far as I wasnt even born when they first started writing, but they all had a profound impression on me.

Regrettably the brotherhood is in a state of war with the NLB, so whatever they organize, we will simply have to boycott.

This as I said is very regrettable indeed.

Meanwhile I dont wish to spoil the mood, my I respectfully wish these two authors the very best.

    Yours very humbly

We look forward with great anticipation to the next 100 blogs the National Library Board will be e-pasting into their archive.

I believe according to Raju it will happen by the end of this year.

Let us see what will happen, if it doesn’t fall well, then another round will follow.

You see I learnt a few things in life and one of them is simply this, when you let people push you around, they will push you time and again, but if you stand up and say, what right do you have to push me and you are even prepared to go all the way…..usually 9 out of 10, they will say this man is trouble, lets just ignore him.

    Decide wisely.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the royal creche for their generous contribution to the ASDF to make the report to AIMs possible.

Without your timely intervention, none of this would have been possible and the hope of a better tomorrow would have been nothing more than a distant dream.

My undying love always to the lady of lake.

Meanwhile I remain yours very trully, your humble and most capable servant,

    To her ladyship,

Tomorrow I am scheduled to meet some members of the confederation.

They have flown in from four corners of the world.

Indeed this is a rare occasion and I have taken the liberty of informing his excellency Jatumkhamrhepteh that I would be most honored if you and your consort could grace this occasion as our guest of honor.

My hope is to show you our world; to introduce you to those who make it; who form it; so that you will better understand our ways. (this is a rare offer, as it has only been made 3 times in 6 years)

I have also arrange a midnight boat cruise to show you around our marvellous island.

My hope is you will never consider me too impertinent to have made such a forward proposal.

    I mean well.

The prospects of seeing you against fills me with great anticipation.

    Yours very humbly

I just wish to ask two questions.

Why is it the lady of the lake always gets special treatment plus special services? While we all have to settle for grub?

When will the final series of the aims report come out

    http://www.intelligentsingaporean.com/?p=3

Many thanks and I hope I get a prompt reply. I have a right to ask these questions as a long time reader

    Hi Hello Kitty,

(1)”Why is it the lady of the lake always gets special treatment plus special services?”

You really need to direct your question to Darkness. I don’t believe anyone except him can answer that question.

    (2) “When will the final series of the aims report come out?”

I have been told it will be posted in:

    (1) APICs
    (2) Intelligent Singaporean.
    (3) JUST STUFF
    (4) Phi Beta Kappa
    (5) Urbana
    (6) Strangelands I
    (7) Strangelands II
    (8) Singapore Daily
    (9) PBK II & III

    And all the read clubs

    (10) SLF 1 - 45

    Many thanks.

  14. Y2K Says:

I am sorry Urbana no longer exist. It will be instead be posted in the PBK site for those readers.

  15. Y2K Says:

Just to clarify, as I got alot of flak from alot of new readers.

In brotherhood timeline / the Julian Space calendar is used and not our usual 12 month in a year notation / so sept = oct/

The final part of the aims report will be out Oct 30th 2008 / I am very sorry for not explaining this.

    Hi HK

‘Why is it the lady of the lake always gets special treatment plus special services? While we all have to settle for grub?’

Exactly. Took the words right out of my mouth. Then again. You would have to take into account that Darkness Baby Boy is perhaps one of the best lady jaga’s around. And trust me I get this from a very reliable source.

From the moment, the lady touches down in Changi to the moment when she leaves. That boy never ever leaves her side. Even if it means having to fake his MC and wait for hours under the hot sun when she does her hair or pedicure, right down to forking out a small fortune and carrying all her shopping.

He is a good jaga. Lady even told us once, he sms’s her at least 20 times a day asking whether she wants this or that. And he takes care of her every wimp and fancy. And he never ever complains.

Clean cut, neat and with no noticeable hygiene bad habits, he is definitely high luxe. And the best thing is he never ever complains.

The power of money lah! The sad the things people do for it. Even if it means they have to sell their pride and self esteem.

    Welcome to the capitalist tool
