Fully agree with what the author of “Today in Singapore” has written about the LBW/STTA vs LGT saga.
Granted that Liu might have some character flaws that are deemed unacceptable to Lee or the STTA. But to deprived him of the Coach of the Year award might be a little hard for anyone to take. That award is meant for the top coach and how is a coach judged? Based on the performance of the team he coaches. It is just that simple.
Granted that STTA stand their ground on no nominating him. The statement subsequently from LBW was totally uncalled for and as what LGT has felt, those words do sound like an character assassination and LGT has all the right to demand for an explanation. I find him gracious enough to make the trip personally but unfortunately, his sincerity was not matched by our STTA and LBW.
There is really a good chance that LGT might ended up taking a civil suit against LBW. Should that happen, things will be turning really ugly for everyone.
