Daily ChioBu: Rachel Kum

Rachel Kum was crowned Miss Singapore Universe 2009 at the pageant held in May 2009. The brand manager was also a finalist in the New Paper New Face 2007 contest. In June 2007, several photos of her posing with a blown-up sex doll and a cake with an edible sugar decoration in the shape of a penis were leaked in the internet. This led to some calls for her to be stripped of her crown. Pageant organisers however stood by her, saying that the photos were taken before she became Miss Singapore Universe. In a poll ran by Singapore Daily, 71% (out of 78) of voters did not think that Rachel Kum should be stripped of her title.
