Good Morning folks,
As some of you already know Nasdaq took an unexpected dive last night, so I was up the whole night fire fighting to save the planet / didnt get much sleep / to compound matters the gaming confederation has once again issued out a bounty on my head along with Harphoon, Astroboy, scholarboy et al for a sum 10,000 standard Imperiums (they flatter us this time). They are trying to prevent me from talking about what I know abt TR, you all have to decide whether they have such a right.
I will get directly to the point - once I’ve settled my workload; I am going to sit down in a quiet place and type out some of my thoughts abt TR and why I believe this a site that is not what it appears to be and represents perhaps the biggest danger to our beloved blogoland. I assure all of you, it will be a interesting read and hopefully it will allow most of you to make an informed decision concerning this matter.
Meanwhile stay tuned here. Not to worry, they can do very little to harry me. After this post, there will be many attempts to short circuit our conversation. I trust many of you will be able to wade through the shit.

Part 1/13 – The Genesis (From the age of stone to the age of the rocketship)
I will tell you the whole story from the very beginning. I will break the code of omerta.
There are many here who may not fully understand how the world of gaming is inextricably linked to the social political scene in blogosphere; to many the distinction is reminiscent of heaven and earth – but in reality as you begin to read this; you will be internal persuaded they can be no other than one of the same reality; as many of you who are new to this subject a brief history may be in order – this is to allow you all to gain a deeper understanding into the intrigues of why the confederation has recently issued a warrant arrest against me or why they do not want me to ask the questions that I have asked of Temasek Review aka Wayang Party – let me start from the very beginning.
When online gaming first began somewhere in the early 90’s (know as the age of the stone); the scene can only be described as a “free for all” – true to Darwinian doctrine; all organism eventually migrate from the chaotic to the ordered and so eventually four main players came to dominate the lucrative underground trade for products and services in the virtual economy; to further their respective trade agendas perpetual war characterized much of the underground trade in minerals, ray-guns, space ships etc.
During this period the trade in exotic minerals grew exponentially to a point where even the cumulative volume of tradable assets in online sites such as Everquest was equal only to the GDP of Russia – this only served to exacerbate the senseless arms race between the four houses as they jockeyed ceaselessly to extend their sphere of influence and hold on power in the field of trade and commerce – it was during this fractious period that the brotherhood first made its accidental appearance as power brokers; I say “accidental” as prior to that, we were merely mapmakers who charted the known universe and supplied maps to all the four houses; so it was only natural for all of the four houses to regard us as natural intermediaries, since only we have free and unfettered access to all the territories of the four houses – eventually our neutrality would play a pivotal and even strategic role in undermining the power of the four houses.
Since it was well known to all that we came with the appellation of neutrality – the four houses eventually agreed that we should be the only tribe to be given the sole concession for developing and managing space fold technology; as it was simply too expensive and even dangerous for one house alone to monopolize the right to travel and since it was well known the brotherhood were nomadic, it was generally assumed that we had no imperialistic motives, we were after all only map makers to them – space fold, the science of travelling across the vast infinity of space is the linchpin that binds every community in the virtual like the spokes of a wheel; without the ability to transverse the infinity of space in a single bound; a community might as well be marooned, it would not be able to trade, wage war or even do something as simple as send an envoy to a neighboring planet – it did not take long for the ranks of the brotherhood to be corrupted by this new technology; like the templar knights of lore who first escorted pilgrims to the holy land for the sole purpose of faith and never for pecuniary interest, only to eventually contort and amass wealth to eventually challenge the Vatican; the brotherhood would fall into the very same gyre; eventually we the humble map makers came to see themselves as the effective power within the system; and so we began to shed our neutral stripes in preference for furthering our own agenda – by this period, the power shift from the four houses to the brotherhood was imperceptible but none the less its effects would eventuall be total and complete; as not only did the brotherhood use space fold to manipulate the price of exotic minerals in the virtual by either constricting the supply and demand to keep the finances of the four houses in check; space fold was also used to maintain the delicate balance of power between the warring factions of the four houses by ensuring no one house could amass too much territory or influence by either extending or limiting their space fold concession – by this period, the four houses had been so emasculated they were nothing more than pale skeletons of their previous glory, but this in no way prevents them planning to seize control from the brotherhood – and how would they do this?
Now you all understand the brief history of the four houses, confederation and the brotherhood who collectively make up the chess pieces of this story.

How do you control the internet - Part 2/13
I am waiting for Missy Dotty, we’re supposed to go out for dinner and she’s late (again) – now I know why watch manufacturers typically make women’s timepieces smaller than men’s – they’re not supposed to tell the time. So let’s take this opportunity to dive in from where I last penned off as I hack happily away on my trusted Nokia Communicator.
Now in my last windbag sharing; I told you who we are; but to the perceptive reader it also underscores one very important aspect of the missing puzzle to allow you all to make an informed decision about who Temasek Review really is and what exactly is their agenda in blogosphere.
The gist of it goes like this: if you want to understand how it is possible to control blogosphere – then it’s not so different to the story of how ALL elites acquire power or perpetuate their class politics.
In the first chapter of this series, I shared in our case; we the brotherhood managed it by controlling space fold technology – “the power to transverse the infinity of space in a single bound” – a corollary of that also gives us the right to mythologize our hold on power along with the right to wear funny looking hats.
So the long and short of it is this: if you want command & control; you need to first monopolize one crucial technology – think about it; how did the Mongol hordes vanquish their enemies in the steppes; they mastered the art of ridding and shooting deadly arrows on horseback – the same holds true of the Romans; who ruled their extensive empire through a network of roads – and in the case of the British; they prosecuted their empire on naval power – mastery of the power of one is the skeleton key to the gaining access to the multitudes.
And this begs the question: what do you need to control in the internet; if you’re going to establish any semblance of command and control?
But before you answer that question; you need to understand a bit about the complexity of power & politics – that is to say since all oligarchies (and this could well be governments, secret police to your local consortium of kaypoh aunties club – take your pick) tend to be intensely conservative. They like the Samurai, Manchu and Ottomans, all suffer from the same set of fears – fear to tamper with anything in the system they control, lest in so doing they bring the whole edifice down – and this leads us to one paradox; no hegemony can ever resist change in perpetuity, that’s simply impossible in the chastening passage of time; but when and if change comes, however, nothing prevents them from controlling your perception of change.
Think about it – the shift here is subtle; read it again – so from this; we know that the most expedient way to manage change is by managing perception and that my friends in a nutshell is the most expeditious way to establish command and control of the internet.
Now armed with this knowledge; consider this – what if I can convince there is a site in blogosphere that is able to mirror your every sentiment, feeling and even outrage concerning your object of interest, be it ministers salaries, price of housing etc ? Or better still what if I am to reveal to you snippets and sound bites that you simply cant even get from the MSM that simply goes a very long way to reaffirm what you have always suspected about your hidden suspicion concerning power & politics?
And here comes the kicker: are you ready? What if this apparatus that I am talking about is owned and operate by those who choose to manage the course of change? Tell me wouldn’t they able to resolve the hubris of precipitous change along with perhaps managing the transition to alternative forms under their own terms and conditions?

Did Temasek Review Throw the Switch or did they really suffer a DOS attack?
I’ve just finished dinner with Missy Dotty; it didn’t go well; as my mind was on the market – I have a feeling when a woman goes on one of her wonky moods; they call it PMS because Mad Cow Disease was already taken. Anyway that’s over; I never mix my personal life with work; its nothing personal, that’s just business - I am looking at my four screens again and its all red, the market is range bound and it will be one of those ground hog nights again.
Where were we? Oh yes, how does one go about controlling the internet – like I said in Chapter 2, the key lies somewhere in between the art of controlling perception and selling the illusion that you have the power to do so; let me put it this way; if I can convince you; you have the power to effect change; then 9 out of 10; you will probably settle for the illusion of change rather than insisting on the real deal – don’t believe me? Then how do you explain why so many women fork out a small fortune at the end of every month just to buy a jar a la anti gravity moisturizer; where the only active ingredient happens to be tap water – and this really brings me to the main nub of this entry.
Why does Temasek Review keep on telling us that they have suffered a DOS attack and why do they go off line so often? What do they have to gain from this? Doesn’t seem to make any sense right?
Wrong! Makes perfect sense if you understand how the marketing manifesto really works – because what they are doing in an oblique way is to sell you and I the belief that what they actually have to say is something authentic and so subversive that someone up there feels the need to censor simply to preserve our fragile minds; it’s the stuff of stone wash jeans and less than perfect rustic “ I am not mass produced” marketing and it’s the antithesis of everything that most of us have come to hate about the hate and spin culture that is so prevalent in the MSM – the whole idea takes its cue from the Moulin Rouge – the allure of forbidden fruit; illicit thrill along with conjuring up images of chiaroscuro.
You see whenever the Temasek Review tells you and I someone has launched a DOS attack on them – what they’re in effect doing is reinforcing the necessary lie that has to feature in every successful fairy tale between good and evil - we have made the world a better place – progress always has to come at a terrible cost; nothing is ever gained without a good fight along with perhaps the trite Hollywood promise of redemption – if the good in the world outweighs the bad; its always has to be by the slimmest of margins and it was brought to you and I at a great personal sacrifice.
That of course really commands as much currency as my disposal underwear that is starting to smell a bit fruity after spending two days tracking the market in the office. In other words, it’s a crock of shit – they just threw the switch themselves. I’ve come to that in chapter 12.
So if anyone tells you that it doesn’t make one molecule of common sense for Temasek Review to throw the switch; that by itself doesn’t make any sense – truth remains; by throwing the switch and claiming it was a DOS attack – that is the only way for them to maintain a tenuous purchase on the Singapore imagination because ours is a country where no one ever believes the truth could simply emerge without the terrible cost of sacrifice.
Now you know why the necessary lie has to be perpetuated at every cost and opportunity – consider the alternative – would you even consider reading the Temasek Review if it was just another blog? There you go something to fry your mind.
On that note; it’s back to the life of cookie cutter…it will be a long night.

Might as well go and look for a needle in the haystack Tracing Darkness. They all use only dedicated terminals to log on / problem you will face is simply this. They are not known as the brotherhood to us. We call them different names. The Malaysians call them Orang Buyan, spirit people, as they came appear and disappear as they like. The Russians call them, Samzidareeze, as they travel in single file to hide their numbers. Then you have the gulf gamers who call them by a least two names, Al Kah-him and Jabeerze, roughly translated it means “the ones who came from the stars.” As they believe, they are mythical beings who have always inhabited the internet. The French call them, Les Enfant du Paradis (the children of paradise), as they seem to have a free spirit. The list goes on and on. It is endless.
A good place to start is the comment list Enzio posted in the vid, I count at least 50 or 60 there who know them there intimately. Btw how much is the bounty?

Why whatever “truth” Temasek Review tells you is not really the “truth?” Chapter 4
Hi Teamsters!
Lets take this opportunity to recap; in chapter one, I share with you the keys to power; in chapter two, I explained how that key is able to rotate a lock and open a door and in Chapter 3, we touched on the subject of how that entering that door only leads you further into a proverbial hall of mirrors.
We could go further; but this may be a good place to pause only because where we have to go after this requires knowledge; not any knowledge, but special knowledge – you have followed me to this point so far and the last thing I want you to do is trip and fall. So let’s spend some time asking ourselves why Temasek Review keeps telling you and I that someone is out to cripple their servers.
As I mentioned in Chapter 3, the whole idea is to sell you and I - a product that is packaged with the promise of an illicit experience, better still if comes laced with a subversive whiff and even if I am able to convince you; the “truth” came to you at an exorbitant cost involving personal sacrifice and untold hardships – now you understand why confecting the good versus evil story that some malevolent force out there is short circuiting their servers goes a very long way to fulfill that marketing goal.
Like I said it’s a good marketing strategy; the only problem is once you know how it really works; then the spell breaks and everything begins to unravel.
So to make the “truth” really irresistible those cyber warriors in TR also have to engineer it to be durable and resilient enough to stand up to scrutiny – and what better way to accomplish this feat by being able to provide you with snippets and sound bites of controversial news flashes – here the recipe that makes it possible for you to take the bait, hook, line and sinker is simply this:
Equal parts of the truth is laced with lies. To tell you not the truth, but to keep you in a happy stupor.
Now you understand why Temasek Review doesn’t seem to have any hang up’s about even churning out news that is critical of the government – they know too well, whatever they serve up would eventually be served up anyway somewhere in blogosphere – so what they do is give it the McDonalds treatment and serve up the worse in the best possible way; thereby mitigating the damage.
Don’t believe me; just take a look at how these news flashes are typically served up in the Temasek Review – they don’t really give you REAL news as much as fashion the illusion that you are being told the news - that way you’re inclined to remain terminally supine and indiffernt; that way instead of getting worked up all you really do is fall into a stupor where nothing really provokes you enough to do anything - now you understand why the soviets deliberately kept two commodities dead cheap -cigarettes and vodka.
Now I know what some of you are going to say at this point: “Hey Darkness, I don’t settle for second best! Don’t insult my intelligence, if I can have the real thing why would I want to settle for a fake!”
Wrong again – as this whole idea that I am sharing with you is nothign short of a science called psychological warfare and it is not so different from how so many people are willing to buy sweetened carbonated water just because Coca-Cola markets its products “as the real thing.”
Now you understand why theme parks are so popular even when they are sited just a few hundred yards from real beaches – because what they are able to do is successfully package the “truth” in such a way where there’s always an equal measure of truth mixed with lies to create a very attractive package; just like what Temasek Review regularly serves up (don’t believe me go and read one of TR’s articles and compare it with one that is regularly posted in TOC, the former leaves you asking more questions than it answers!) – you see in theme park logic, it’s a bit like tucking into prime cut Kobe beef in the matrix – just because it ain’t real doesn’t mean it cannot command an intrinsic value; in theme park mentality no one ever needs to know that six foot high waves can be produced at a press of button, each precisely the same as the last. Nor does anyone bother to ask whether those palm trees are real or manufactured in some sweat shop in China – providing all the mild inconveniences of salt water spoiling your mascara and creepy crawlies are kept out of the equation; the result it produces is, you’re be back for more as that is really delivers is nothing short of the quintessential comfort zone – that unfortunately is also the place where your soul, spirit and ability to think critical dies in increments; you’re so contended you’re not even aware you’re melting into oblivion.
Now we will move on; but before you follow me beyond chapter 4; you need to make up your mind whether you want to take the blue or red pill – its your choice.

Why am I taking a bite out of TR? A footnote
I know what you’re thinking; I even know that you’re two minded, but I want to tell you what’s rattling in your head this minute is a perfectly natural reaction. As trying to pin down the broader role and goal of Temasek Review is fiendishly difficult, its one part paradox, two parts enigma with a twist of lemon – as till now you’re just a man who knows how to draw a straight line; to strike a line, and to carve any number of given lines, with admirable speed and precision – that incidentally is how the vast majority of netizens (including myself) have come to draw their respective conclusion about the internet; we seek out the familiarity of forms, patterns and structures which edify our own sense of belief and now that you know what you know; that’s a bit like asking a stonecutter to think deeper abt the alphabets he cuts daily with such admirable speed – a perceptive shift is bound to occur; now it seems passing from the realm of theory to reality assumes an air of hesitancy; 9 out of 10, if he puts chisel to stone; the strikes comes off the wrong way and he fucks it up – 9 out of 10, if decides to use a curved chisel or a size 3 mallet to strike a curve line – he fucks it up again.
You know why that happens don’t you? Because now his job has been transformed into a thinking being – let me put it another way: it’s conceivable many of us left our back doors wide open; as its all too easy to jump from the knowledge a blog such as TR can have agency to the conviction that it must have agency to even bring about meaningful change for you and I; but if you really think long and hard about it; the only reason why anyone would accord TR, that sort of kosher appellation of an oppositional blog is simply because it seems to have all the set pieces we all traditionally associate with oppositional blogs – but as we begin to peel away the layers and look closer at why they claim some malevolent force out there is trying to cripple their servers along with asking ourselves the broader scope of their hidden agenda – then what rapidly emerges is the realization, we ought not only to treat with extreme reserve and askance many of their representations; but we would also do well to re-examine many of time honored assumptions of whether they are really an oppositional blog and not a wolf sporting fleece.
And at this juncture in the name of fair play; you would also do well to ask what exactly is my motivation? Do I have an axe to grind with TR? Believe it or not, I don’t – my motivation if I can compress it into something as compact as a pill is simply one indestructible idea – it is the belief that what unifies us all as netizens is not that the internet can change anything, but that it can preserve something – and what’s that thing to be preserved – the right to the seek out the truth – whether you realize it or not, bloggers and their cachet of readers are preservers of the truth; custodians of a tradition of authentic language; practitioners of looking into darkened interiors along with beaconing out the murk.
One day when our bones have turned into dust – digital archeologist are not going to peruse through the Strait Times; they’re going to sieve through the electronic chatter to piece together the nuances of what you and I really though about this and that – so we are an organic community; we may disagree on many things; but we can all agree without too much fuss that nothing in the world seems simple to us all. So please understand this: I have every right to question; and if that right is forcibly taken away from me (as I have been threatened no end) then many of you who would do well to consider whether it also means that thing we’re talking about when we use the word “identity” has reach a terminal end?
So let be clear, I am not stopping TR from furthering their hidden agenda; by all means cyber warriors carry on; only don’t expect me to hold back; why should I? Did you really believe for one moment that you could just waltz in; pirouette a yarn and not expect anyone here to even ask: “Is this the real thing?”
You know what’s the real tragedy in all this do you; its not whether TR is perdition or salvation; or even whether TR’s advent in our blogosphere represents the specter of a reign of dystopian mind control or opens up an new dawn of consciousness – it is simply this: I want to believe, you have no idea how much I want to believe you.

Just as common sense informs us for every action there is a counter reaction; this should compel us to ask why did Temasek Review even launch an attack on the Strait Times when it claimed that the later was responsible for crippling their servers? Now armed with this knowledge – what if I said to you one of the goals of Temasek Review is to perpetuate the myth that the internet is a feral domain populated by compulsive liars who do nothing all day but confect conspiracy theories along with disseminating lies. Think about it; how would the rhetoric of officialdom come across against an internet that we all know is maturing so fast that it will eventually challenge the primacy of the MSM as the sole purveyor of the truth? What better way to retard this inexorable change; then to insert the equivalent of a village dunce who likes to play with matches ro even represent the name and face of our blogosphere?
From time to time, of course, that village dunce may be directed by their puppet masters to (they cant do it all the time as people are basically like roaches, the more you spray them, the more they develop immunity; so a little goes a long way here and they would have to deploy this strategy very sparingly) provoke our sense and sensibilities by churning out ever more fantastical lies which may hopefully push our collective consciousness to some tipping point where many of us may even feel the need to re-evaluate many of our time honored conception about freedom of speech in the context of the internet? I other words they want us all to score a high to very high in the “puih” factor scale.
That incidentally is how bent governments, cult churches and of course hucksters and charlatans, take your pick (I consider them all birds of the same feathers) go about justifying the NEED for far reaching legislation and guidelines in the name of protecting the truth or for matter your rights which would otherwise have been wholly unnecessary. (btw is the elections coming?)
That in a nutshell is how one goes abt selling a gold plated fire engine.
And this is where Temasek Review comes in as the agent or proxy that makes this transaction not only possible; but arguably sensible, intelligent and even clever enough to hold it out as a prescriptive cure of our times.
The psychology for clinching the sale takes its cue from eleventh hour medicine, which, when it cannot cure, seeks to relieve suffering as efficiently as possible. But tell me would all this be possible without Temasek Review? Let me put it another way; what if I said to you, even if TR did not exist; an equivalent in some form would have to be found – short of fabricating a new word; you could say it is the one vital ingredient that makes possible the sale of the gold plated fire engine.

You may think Darkness is so good hearted that he is writing all this for the benefit of us netizens, but read carefully again, he uses the address, “my apprentice” along with the first person prefix,”what if I say to you…” These are terms that only someone who knows another would use.
He is definitely writing to only a select few who know him and vice versa. This whole thread could even be copied and pasted from some other site where there is a discussion on this topic, otherwise why use such strange construction in sentencing?
I have no doubt abt it that it may be the intellectual class within the brotherhood itself, they number less than 12. In their society, the pecking order is merchant & artisan at the very base, soldier in the middle, administrator higher up, and at the pinnacle are the intellectuals. Their numbers may be small, but the power and influence they weild is tremendous. As they are really the movers and shakers. According to latest data from web traffic company alexa.com, Temasek Review has already exceeded the online traffic of SPH’s New Paper and TODAY during the last two weeks though our official traffic ranking is still behind theirs due to a technical delay for it to decrease.
(For readers info, TNP online no longer provide the full news on their online site, as they are trying to get ppl to buy their newspaper. That is why readership online has fallen drastically. For TODAY, they are never serious about their online edition, as they more revenue from their papers.)
This is the first time that a non-SPH run online news site has exceeded SPH-controlled publications in terms of readership and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your support in the last two years.

The Stiletto, Khurki and Temasek Review - the art of fashioning the bogeyman. Part 6 /13
My apprentice here you have the stiletto; as far as instruments of death go, this has to be the most striking exemplification of the inutility of the Western way of warfare; here hold it, play with it even, our digital engineers have even managed to replicate this Venetian weapon with remarkable accuracy, right down to the period ivory riveting and the clumsy Verona spring action.

Its one of many way in which every oligarchy perpetuates their class politics; as not only do these symbols manage to keep communities in line, they serve to underline the “us against them” divide in clear and unambiguous terms.
In this respect, Temasek Review fulfills both the FORM and not the FUNCTION of the Stiletto and Khukri; let me give you an illustration of how this works: to the untrained eye when TR takes a sporadic jabs at ST claiming that someone is grabbing their data or maybe some other government organization such as MDA staff are visiting their sites; it would seem like all this amounts to nothing more than a wasteful diffusion of energy; but look closer – what is Temasek Review actually doing? What are they trying to convey when you disregard the unimportant and winnow out the irrelevant? What remains?

How do we go about imposing any order on this medley to gainfully make sense of what’s going on here? It is simply this: How does one go about the business of assuring the loyalty of those who “belong” to the system?
You see the real fear of the custodians of power is not the enemy who stands outside the gates; common sense will inform you quite rightly the enemy who stands OUTSIDE is never as dangerous as the enemy WITHIN the system.
The real threat to every oligarchy is the very people who collectively add up to make the DNA of the system; the whirlwind of every civilization hinges on this tenuous balance between ensuring the cadres within the system and those who may not belong to it understand in uncertain terms what is demanded of them – because those within the system are not only the adherents who are responsible for perpetuating the ethos and philosophy of the system; but they are also the anointed vanguards who collectively share a stake in preserving the well being of the hegemony; their compliance and loyalty is therefore not only necessary; but its even a strategic precondition; if power is to remain firmly within the hands of these elites.
But how is this tenuous arrangement to be maintained and more importantly sustained; from time to time, there is a need to remind these vanguards; who the real enemy is (real or imagined) along with providing a schema of a reward and penalty calculus – and what better way to accomplish all this than to perpetuate the myth that the other side can never be trusted; “if you put your faith in them; they will betray your trust!” Temasek Review fulfils that symbolic function of the Stiletto and Khurki to good effect; as since it’s inception; it has astudiously fashioned its outlook as the quintessential name and face of what the enemy is able to inflict on the system; a threat so great that the vanguards WITHIN the system MUST always fight relentlessly; in this calculus of war; the feral and brutish internet cannot be allowed to triumph. It must be destroyed. And what better way to do this by fashioning the very symbol of what is false to be true in the shape of the Temasek Review.

The Secret Admirer of the MSM – Temasek Review
We all know the ST these days is starting to look like a cassette player in the age of iPods and MP3 players, may seem like a quaint blast from the past conversation piece but hardly anyone these days denies it should at least have the grace and dignity to make its way next to the dodo exhibit in some dusty museum.
Observation suggest the press is dying; readership is falling and people just aren’t seeing any value in newsprints any longer – it’s a sad but true valedictory tale that’s scissoring it way across the world and Singapore is no exception to this rule – even those battling against this tsunami of change like the Strait Times are finding it uphill and starting to resemble beleaguered animals as they get abused relentlessly in the internet while their credibility dies in ever steady increments.
This begs the question: what’s the best way to arrest the rot? How do we recapture the high ground again in the new media? How do we restore to the credibility of a beleaguered press in the eyes of netizens? The question acquires as added edge when one considers the ST isn’t just a regular newspaper; but it also performs the “higher” imperative of nation building and perpetuating the raison of the ruling hegemony.
My theory goes like this; one great way of getting netizens who would otherwise remain terminally indifferent to what the MSM has to say these days along with having to bear the pain of Auntie Sumiko’s ruminations about how euthanasia is like visiting to a Banyan tree spa is simply to repackage the whole idea of news; that’s to say get the “new” to bring back the “old.”
And how is this perceptive shift accomplished?
Simple get Temasek Review to act as a proxy for the ST – sound incredulous? The stuff of alien abduction? And where did the plane go when it ploughed into the Pentagon in 9/11.
Think again! TR lies in a confluence point in the new media! its also managed to successfully sell itself as a anti govt blog (never mind the minor detail about taking pot shots at workers party, I am sure that was just bad aiming) Did you know that of all the sites; TR is the only one that REGULARLY lifts articles from (you guessed it) the MSM! Of course, it’s packaged under the subversive tag of “plagiarism” to give it the illicit thrill underground movement like stone washed jeans and plastic palm trees.
And not only does TR regularly feature MSM writes; it does this on an industrial scale; based on the average number of articles a day which you; the occasional blog reader may hardly register as a whole lot (since who in their right mind has to time and energy to track back the origin of every article!) – but just to give you all a sense of scale as to the volume; just divide the number of blogs in the WHOLE of our blogosphere (including TOC, ok lah, I give discount multiply by an imaginary factor of 2) then inverse it with the number of times TR gives airtime to articles written by the apparatus of assimilation and root it with the number of published articles in the MSM and what do you end up with?
A whopping 8,000% comparative between the number of times a blog would normally cite a MSM article – this simply means: they’re in fact funneling you and I reads which would normally not be in our zone of consciousness very much in the way water rushes out from a pipe – a coincidence you say; OK lets put in allegorical terms then; what’s the probability of a tornado whipping through a junkyard and magically assembling a 747? Probabilities don’t make for possibilities.
Think about! Sometimes, not all the time, I admit (especially when a blind date turns out to be a 2 metric ton “internal” beauty) perception can be reality – but even if we decamped from the idea for just a moment; one thing remains robust even to suggest what I am theorizing this minute may not all together be the stuff of big foot, UFO sightings, bubble tea conspiracies etc - perception and reality can reinforce each other; what better way to funnel news which none of us would normally never ever consider reading than to repackage it as “breaking news” in a site that has a strong subversive and oppositional whiff?
Stands to reason; most of us will let our guard down; if we believed the site that carries the news is well known for taking bites at Mr Gahmen & Co; they’re after all one of us right?
Viola – perception has become real, it has to be believed; this is the crucial point; where prophecy becomes not only self-fulfilling; but sub-consciously it also convinces us the gold standard of blogging is to somehow fashion ourselves as a newspaper and since bloggers have neither the human, financial or readership footprint of the MSM – we will always come out short; and the house wins all the time; thus guaranteeing the primacy of a newspaper.
There is however one saving grace that guarantees a redemptive end to this short story – perception can never outrun reality forever – and the danger is that over pitching a brand even one as self aggrandizing as the Strait Times only sets the general audience searching for REAL news to for the fall. As eventually, like all great marketing ploys that take their cue from selling only helium filled hopes and dreams such as Ponzi schemes; when the house of cards come tumbling down and what is on offer in TR just an exact mirror image of another round of palpable surreal and contrived reality from the chemically enhanced artificiality of the apparatus of mass assimilation – the truth may just decide to stick it toe out from one corner and say, what the fuck!
As one of the King soldiers said to another before a slumped humpty dumpty, “how are we going to ever put it back?”

I am happy that you are all taking this so well; as you can see, I have hardly made a dent; don’t believe me? Ask “G” here; he will verify what I have just mentioned. So please keep it in perspective; remember, don’t take it personally; its strictly business; that is how the game is played.
Come on. Did you really believe you could just waltz into blogosphere and try to take control in the way Darth Vader and his gang thought he could steamroll his way into power?
Did you really believe for one moment we actually hated TOC? Did you really believe we were with you when you started taking pot shots at Ah Choo and the Workers Party? Coming to think of it; did you really believe, we would just station ourselves in your site and write for the sake of writing because we are just interested in seeking attention? Use your mentality!

The FORM & FUNCTION that is Temasek Review – Chapter 8/13
I realize by now many of you who have been following this thread here and elsewhere may be so disorientated that you don’t even know what to think any longer – how did things become so complicated? Just a week or so ago; your world it seems stretches across the plains of consciousness very much in a way a farmer looks out and beyond the horizon; with the thoughts that all that life offers is a continuum; where each day offers nothing more than a repetition of yesterday; things do change, of course; you find a stray white hair; your nails are starting to gnaw at you; its time to trim them and you need a new tube of toothpaste; apart from that life it seems just goes right on.
So I understand if all this comes as a rude awakening – a shock that you may even feel the need to cushion with the suitability of skepticism.
But what did you really expect? Consider the cold facts; the internet is strategic; the custodians of power know this only too well; they have seen how it can be so easily weaponized in the last general elections in Malaysia into a wonder weapon; they remain wary it’s a weapons system that needs to be acquired – but how do they do it; well lets see – they’ve tried a spot of break dancing along with rapping; but it seems despite their best efforts all it seems to do is reinforce the contrived reality that they may only just be going through the motions – in other words, they cannot find a way to successfully project online; neither can the MSM seem to find the enterprenuerial spirit to prosper online either – something drastic is needed!
What you need to understand is; its against this backdrop that Temasek Review was born; this should not come as any surprise to either you or me; you can even say it’s a natural progression very much in the way; the crossbow HAD to be conceived to blunt mounted cavalry charges; machine guns HAD to be developed to effectively repel wave upon wave of infantry charges to perhaps how insurgency HAD to be neutralized with counter insurgency techniques – it’s a respond, nothing more or less – if you want to really be “atas” about it, you could probably term it a classical case of Richardson arms race.
And the rebellious, oppositional and subversive tenor of Temasek Review should not be a surprising either; if politicians can don camouflage fatigues and even sport wrist bands to break dance in the name of “lend me your ears!” – the new mantra can only be this: authenticity is rebellion; because in the modern world of marketing, with its desperate focus on youth couple with the holy grail of how to counter mass skepticism – the only way to punch a whole through the iron curtain of noise is by projecting an impression of authenticity through rebellion – there is no other choice – my point this afternoon isn’t a message in the strict sense; rather it’s the art of understanding the mystery of things.
A good place to start is to begin with the assumption; a thing NEVER assumes a FORM without regard to FUNCTION; Darwinian logic informs us chameleons regularly change their color to blend in with their surroundings not because they’re into earthy shade of haute couture, but rather it offers them a competitive advantage of stealth which would otherwise be impossible if the imperative is to successfully perpetuate their species. Neither do things assume a FORM in the absence of FUNCTION: the two ideas are intimately linked; women of the Matabili Tribe still carry water on their heads; not because its quaint to do so; but because the swing of their gait that arches ever so slightly coupled with their well endowed hips makes this the most efficient way to carry heavy objects on their heads with hardly any loss in kinetic energy; they are even more efficient than military backpacks and industrial forklifts – so once again; the FORM and FUNCTION that makes up Temasek Review is nothing more than an accretion of circumstances, challenges and resource allocation – to succeed in high pressure marketing to young people these days – one needs to first begin with the attribution of the market; these are the most critical audience – the ones who are the least to accept anything at face value.
This hardly requires any elaboration; when one considers the best selling album of Michael Jackson isn’t packaged as “good” as much as “bad.” Against this new landscape of the war of consciousness; that means figures who depart from the social norms that we associate with traditional forms of cultural authority are actually in demand – they command a premium – they deserve to be heard (in the internet at least). It also means that discomfiture and a hint of brutishness that many of us regularly associated with loutish behavior has also become the most effective way of getting your message across in a cacophony of noise.
As I said this transformation of TR (for lack of a better word) should not be seen as surprising anymore than we should rue the demise of the cotton loom or typewriter; its merely an attempt to adapt to the emerging challenges presented by this new age; where to get the message across; its not nearly enough to be credible alone; what is required here is alchemy – where to create such a thing as a the “truth,” that the younger generation are searching for, that means being a little bit “bad” – only because ‘bad’ means in your face, full frontal and is the stripe that is in vogue.
I want to be clear; I for one do not ascribe any blame to Temasek Review anymore than I would consider taking issue with firms who try to peddle their wares by leveraging on subversive marketing from impersonating real life blogger product reviews to endorsing hair loss products that I simply know only contains water as the only active ingredient.
Temasek Review is simply a child of its age; and like all children it simply yearns to be heard, as Emerson said, “even a brick aspires to be something great.” - thus its FORM is merely a respond to circumstances and the emerging challenges brought forth by the mind boggling landscape of how to get a handle on the internet – if anyone is to blame; it is the online community; as it conceivable the internet may actually be closer to perdition than salvation as what’s rapidly emerging for me, at least is the realization; it doesn’t seem to hold out the promise of redemption as it does a dystopian future even more – when one considers how so much of real reading has given way to soundbites; wordsmithing to twittering and real thinking to one liners and barbed repartees – its conceivable this is bound to have a chelating, scouring and leaching effect on most of us; it could well be true most netizens these days do not even have the patience to bear out the beauty of the text; let alone care to seek out the nuances of the deeper things in life; in an age steeped in surreal and contrived reality; illusion has somehow become reality; and is it such a wonder Temasek Review has to assume the FORM to fulfill that FUNCTION if it stands any chance of success in reclaiming what it has lost in the battlefield of collective consciousness – it a child of the internet age.

You must never confuse READERSHIP with a COMMUNITY; a community is something, readership can only have the potential to be something; there is a big difference; in a community individuals share common values, ethos and a philosophy. Readership is like the wind, it has no roots, it is everywhere and no where.
Why do you think when the village bell rings the community rushes to the town square with their pails? Why do you think when one fishing boat doesnt return; the community will go out in search for this one missing brother? Why do you think when the enemy stands at the city gates, the community will take up arms and make a line?
If you value your community and your place in it; you will never cry wolf; that is like taking sides with strangers against your own blood and flesh.

I visit this site and other sites. I seldom post. I play games, but that was a long time ago. These days I just play it with my only child. I do however know the brotherhood have great influence in gaming, they were pioneers in many areas, but like the guy above and others have been asking why are you people getting so worked up about TR accusing those SPH people about attacking servers, this is the puzzle very few can piece together, you say they cry wolf, we all know why crying wolf is bad if you are lets say living in the hills in some primitive society, but is the internet a hamlet? And what does it really matter than one idiot keeps crying wolf? Seems to me a whole lot of effort is directed at one idiot, please be nice to me, if I get flames, I will probably never visit here again.

When a man understands the word COMMUNITY beyond its mere dictionary meaning – that is the point when he has truly begun to regard his life with a measure of seriousness that it rightly deserves – you could even say, till then he was in a state of slumber; but once he is aware of his COMMUNITY and his role in it; that is the point of realization when all the cogs and springs that has always been a great mystery to him all his life suddenly makes perfect sense; he will begin to understand how he fits in the greater scheme of things; along with the whole idea of interdependence and collective good – in brotherhood parlance when a man reaches this state of mind and weaves it into his life earnestly; two or more will visit him and they will say to him, “you have arrived my brother.” Now you understand why such a man will never ever cry out “wolf” unless he is certain that such a marauder threatens his flock – as since his welfare depends on the community; it is only reasonable that he subjugates his sense of being to a higher cause of the community – if he cannot do this, he is like what fishermen in the gulf stream term, salao.
But how do you explain all this to someone who does not even know the word COMMUNITY beyond the importance of what he regards as nothing more than words written at the back of a chewing wrapper?
You see it is quite impossible; as it is written in an alphabet that only those who have “arrived” can read, do not for one moment believe there can be such a thing as FREEDOM without KNOWLEDGE. It doesn’t exist.

People used to say when the internet was a child it was like the wild west; this I agree completely; as a man who could no more go about his business peacefully without togging along a plasma gun to keep at bay brigands and troublemakers; but these days things has improved; it is more like the Sicilian hills, especially in the gaming scene; of course there is room for improvement; but some semblance of order is definitely emerging; but as I said, this all depends on a rough appreciation of the idea of COMMUNITY; why is this idea so difficult to understand?
We once wrote for the TR; whether we like it or not; we once drew water from the same well; so we considered them as our extended family; let me ask you all a question; in a Sicilian village, when a child tends to sheep somewhere in the hills cries “wolf’ – does the father say, “deal with it my son, that is your problem!” Or does he tell the signore please ring your bell; so that the men will go up there with their Lupara’s to put to sleep this menace?
And what happens when all these men; who have all put down their scythes and flails only to pick up their Lupara’s turn the hills inside out to find nothing?
And this did not happen once or twice or even thrice my brothers; we were all called to the hills to search and put to sleep this imaginary wolf more times than I can remember and we even called our friends to help us and they came in good faith, as we are a COMMUNITY.
This is what happens when you say there is a DOS attack; we know it to be a very serious thing in the way – we even have a word for it, the thing sinister – it is not so different from an idiot ringing up the police station and lying to them there is a bomb somewhere in Orchard; he thinks it is a big joke; but how can that be so: people are called into action; store keepers close their shutters and the streets are empty – it is bad for business.
All I can say is this; I do not know how this will all end; but I know how it will begin if we were all in a Sicillian village; storekeepers will all draw their blinds; the womenfolk will close their doors and bring their young ones in; no one will talk about this; they will not even discuss it openly; they will just pretend as if it is business as usual; it is another day.
Somewhere in the Sicilian hills the men who once searched for this non-existent wolf will go about the unpleasant business of silencing the lambs of this village idiot – after that, it is matter of profound indifference to the COMMUNITY whether this boy cries wolf or not – life it seems just goes right on and everything is as it should be.
Now you understand why no one talks about this matter as for Wong Kan Seng, he can do nothing except look up at the Curellean sky and say, life beautiful.

Or better still just do it the way TOC and 99.9% of blogs does it and tell everyone they have been working very hard and they just need a good old fashion break.

I just came back from my 50 km morning cycle, it was tough as tungsten nails, but I feel as if I can take on the world.
I just want to tell you all, the next round of this game is going to get more complicated, the stakes will rise, but so will the rewards, if you manage to get it right. Need I say, it can also go that other way.

Maybe some one traced all of them? Maybe some of them came from one place? Maybe that one place is a very interesting place that everyone should know about?

Before you consider this offer for peace. Allow me to say that I am one of the few who actually did considerable research on the moniker Darkness.
In the beginning, I must say, I knew very little other than what I had been told. Some of us suspected something was wrong and the official cover story was probably meant to give us all a general impression of the type of people who usually spend their time online.
So I did alot of private research on the moniker Darkness without even informing those at the ground. I studied in detail every move of the Ascension Wars when you once fought a foe that outnumbered you 1/800 and won. Along with the Tiberrium wars where only a handful of men were able to mortally cripple a superior force.
I also studied in great detail many of your exploits in spycraft along with the hundred or so skirmishes you once fought. On every occasion the level of skill can only be described as brilliant, pure genius. Please bear in mind, I am not trying to flatter you or to even stroke your ego.
You must believe Darkness, I would never do something like that to undermine your intellectual confidence in me. The only reason why I am sharing all this with you is because you are probably the only person who actually knows and I suspect believes in what we are doing here.
I do not believe it is possible for a man of your intelligence to have planned all this to such a level of precision without at least sitting down and thinking it right through to the very end. Even as I speak. I can assure everyman on our side has the greatest admiration and respect for you. I will be frank with you, we didnt even see it coming. all darkness did was to tell the truth as he saw it, you are all forgetting when he once gave TR the impression that he was on their side, he must have realised this must be how the cybertroopers would have projected online to win the hearts and minds game. Darkness is not dumb. A dumb person would take things at face value and will not ask any further questions, he drilled and he went deep, so he spied on them when he was writing there, all the time giving them the impression he was on their side, maybe even downloading information all the time. As I am sure he had access to the system, he saw everything. What were the rest of the blogging community doing then? I see only one man who stuck his neck out and went into the lions cage. I am not a gamer. I am not even interested in politics. But I do regularly read many of Darkness love stories that he sells online in Ekunaba. I even have all the Millenium series. I dont know about the cobra. He sounds dangerous. I dont even know whether if he kills darkness in a game, it means he really dies or can he be reborn again? Someone once told me when you get killed in your game, you die like so in the real world and all your credits get wiped out and you go right to the bottom of the ladder and it takes years to climb it again, but I have read enough of his online novels to know Darkness will come through well and fine.

Look here lets cut to the chase. Lets take stock of the situation, the exodus of the underground gamers from sg to mly is so serious that it warrants closer examination. I can only describe it as a very clear indication they a moving house. It seems you people are fighting amongst yourselves. That is your right. But it is becoming a problem for many of us as well. Let me state the case>
(a) We have been told to block all of mention Darkness write ups.
(b) We have also been advised not to discuss this matter.
(c) We have also asked to switch servers and informed repeatedly all trade routes are open.
First we cannot stop (a) and (b). How can we stop people from talking and showing concern about DOS? This is not realistic. (c) we have discovered our trade routes is now in direct competition with the new trade route recently enabled by Darkness.
We have alot at stake, the new saffron trade route opened by Darkness in Feb has been very popular, trade in the virtual has even gone over to the real world to cover the sale of Oud, Agarwood, Gaharu, Perfume Bottles and Oriental Carpets, our guilds are satisfied. They have confidence in the young Now we are told to not to use the Saffron route! As you people are fighting. The problem this is affecting our livelihood. Many of the Arabic merchants have been asking, “why is the brotherhood treating Darkness, the man who first gave us water in this cruel way? Why do they not allow him to draw water from the well?” May I remind you, Darkness and his crew are the only Chinese who can speak fluent Arabic, this goes a long way to establish trade ties.
The Saffron route reps are prepared to act as facilitators to help iron out whatever difference the brotherhood has with Darkness and his tribe. I do not see this as a big problem, as he is after all part of your family.
This trade problem has grown so big that every guild has sent their rep to Malaysia. We want a meeting. We want Darkness and the rest of you to sit down, make peace, break bread. We also want to know the exact details of this DOS attack, what is its purpose and design, along with related implication.

Our latest com-sat 9063-209 from the new liaison officer Super Puma confirms there is growing discontent in the new saffron routes / the merchants are openly flouting the councils new rulings to use these temp routes, they are still using the saffron routes.
What the council of the wise needs to realize is they are nameless and faceless to many of the Bazaar merchants who populated the lucrative saffron route unlike the PB and Phi Beta Kapap routes based in the US and EU / amongst the populace words like Zhah-lihm has been widely used to describe how Darkness has been treated by the council, they believe he has been treated unjustly. Darkness has played this to full effect by amplifying that he has been victimized. These Arabs who trade are moderates, they value justice and in this case, justice has not been seen to be done in their opinion. They believe the council has been heavy handed by severing his account along with cutting off his com, it is behaving like the Roman empire / what needs to be understood is Darkness and his crew have strong ties with the main movers and shakers in the saffron routes, they were the ones who first established trade ties with our Arabic channel partners. History definitely plays a preponderant role. Darkness is not known as Darkness there, they all call him AL Whaheed (the young wise one) / in their social make up he and many of his troupe such as sergei aka singaporedaddy are considered tribal elders as they know their ways / our reps there dont even know how to greet them without causing offence, let alone sit down and talk at length to their intellectuals abt ME poetry, there is no mental connection / the Arab moderates respect them for their extensive knowledge of their history, heritage etc etc etc. So they speak very much as equals and there is kinship. This is not something our new liaison’s can replicate overnight, IT IS UNREALISTIC, these trade routes were built over a 10 year period, so relationship runs deep. Now they are only pockets of grumbling, but the pro-consul of the brotherhood has already relayed a message capsule informing us things may even get out of control, as much of the trade in the virtual has made the jump to the real world. Livelihood is at stake here and people can be passionate. As a prudent measure it was be strategical wise to station additional garrisons of Sardukhans to maintain law and order in these trade routes should things turn ugly, alternatively, the council should seriously consider sitting down with Darkness and his renegade crew to hammer out a deal with our Arab channel partners. I strongly recommend Al Khaleed’s recommendations. Otherwise the saffron routes will be kept open as there are thousands of abandoned threads that such as these that they can use to communicate with each other, the numbers may not be high, but cummulatively they can equal a full transmission bandwidth of even an establish trade route complete with transmission and exchange - currency /mineral transact etc etc.

The problem is very simple. The higher Council of the brotherhood has no control over the lucrative saffron routes.
Things have become a million times more complicated as they are now openly trading using commercial accounts along with dead sites to communicate very much like the thread here.
The gaming and real world has merged.
In the middle of all this is the figure Darkness. What has the council done? It has cancelled his account, stripped him of all his rights along with severing his communication network. Why? The Council doesnt want Darkness and his motley crew to ask inconvenient questions about the recent DDOS claim broadcasted by Temasek Review. Here again the social political has merged with gaming interest.
What amazes most of us who are just looking on with a mix of disbelief and utter incomprehension is what gives the council of the brotherhood the confidence to even believe they can act with such disregard to the rest of the online community?
Lets look at the accounts. No one is using the new trade routes. The merchants and especially the bazaar traders in the Arab enclave are still using the old routes. They have refused to switch. The old trade routes I suspect are managed manually by Darkness people very much like old switch board telephone exchanges. They are using dead blogs and derelict threads to keep communication open. Everytime we shut one down, another 10 opens up somewhere else. It is labor intensive, slow, but do not be under any illusion, it works and trade remains unaffected! So the Councils edicts have proven to be impotent.
On the moral front, the Council’s has behaved without regard to the ground sentiments to the online community who populate the Saffron route. They are perceived as distant and now they come across as heavy handed and unfair.
Even the new Liaison officer posted there recently can do nothing but twiddle his fingers. He has been asking the Caliph and Vizier for an audience in Prima Maritima. The new Liaison has not only been ignored with insults, but they have refused to accept his letters and seals. What the Council has failed to factor in is the Arabic trade routes, the gamers there value justice, peace and due process above all things even higher than commercial considerations, this may seem strange, but this does not alter the reality at ground level, all my reports highlighting this have been disregarded by the Council. Instead it firmly believes, it can issue out orders from its ivory tower and people will follow them.
What the council needs to understand is those who play the game in the Saffron routes are not so unusual from many of the colonies and protectorates the brotherhood administers, but there is a crucual difference. Most the gamers have jobs, some have families but above all they value history and tradition. Naturally all this takes alot of effort and those who do not juggle gaming and work may think they are an eccentric and odd balls. But there is something they all share that Darkness and his crew has managed to tap into. Not solidarity perhaps. But at least a warm emotion like a faint belief only he and his motley crew has taken the trouble to reach out to them to build common bonds as he was the one who once built, operated and transferred the Saffron route to the Arabs.
Competition is of course part of this mix. But competition when compared to common bonds make poor bed fellows. To the Arabs, the game is a way where they can affirm the shared bonds. In this sense Darkness and his crew are highly regarded by the many of the moderate Arabs. They do not see him as brotherhood in the strict sense, but as one of them, as for the Council, they might as well be on the moon. Look here. The saffron route is not like the PBK route. In this virtual domain, there are thousands of tribes. Each tribe has a scribe and in the annals of their history, Darkness is an intricate flower in their history. To the Arabs there is no greater sin than to scrub away a man’s past, this is what the council has attempted to do.
Let us take a look at the present situation. Orders have been issued to arrest and detain Darkness. Yet no one claims to have heard or seen him. None of the officials even want to grant the new liaison an audience. He is not even invited to any of their tribal meetings. And even if he were there, since he is not proficient in Arabic, he can do nothing to influence the powers that be. And in these tribal meetings Darkness keeps on talking about the thing sinister, the DOS, he speaks in riddles, “if the water is stale, then why dig a well?” / “If the camel has its own mind, then what use is it, as it can only walk around in circles? / “when one picks dates, do we not look out for scorpions, are you so tempted by sweetness, you have forgotten the sting?” These idioms he uses regularly is a type of language that is written in their tradition, so they nod their heads.
In summary, Darkness intends to stop the flow of investments to these new routes set up by the council by spreading fear about DOS. If the situation is not reversed, we can only assume the Malaysian servers will be used and not the new trade routes. Neither is there any point in trying to hunt him there either, to the Al Mahjeed, they call him the Harmadan, an evil wind that carries from the Persian sea where once an army even donned armor to fight it only to be vanquished. In short, he can operate there indefinitely.
To end. This matter has exploded to a elephant. All the guilds have sent their representatives to Malaysia from all over the world. But let us be crystal clear about one thing. None of them will sit down and talk terms without the Council extending an invitation to Darkness. Do not think you can cut a man down here as you do so in the social political scene by not aggregating him or even linking his writes and hope that he will be wiped out, here when a man speaks another listens and it goes on and on and somewhere down the line, it is written and in this perverse way myth becomes reality.
We need to have a meeting urgently. We all need to sit down. Common sense must prevail. Otherwise we will end up like this where communication continues in a hundred or so threads like this. In one word, they all want to hear what Darkness has to say about this DDOS (thing sinister). The Council is not wise to stop him talking.
My hope is Darkness reads this. My hope is he will act wisely to do the right thing, but first thing first, the Council must first see the error of their ways. The alternative is the sum of all our fears.

But even I have the cow sense to realize, if there is a covert site like wayang party, temasek review (or will they be the new online strait times one day! As they keep changing their stripes!) out there and as long as this DDOS matter remains a mystery, as that is what it is to most bloggers and readers alike, they may not talk or blog abt it, but this is in every readers mind. As for the gamers, they may not talk about it but do check out the FR to see what is the No 1 topic! Please.

I am just waiting for the next round of sanctions. As for Temasek Review it is a matter that is cut and dried, no one is going to forget what it is, a fake site, nothing more or less. I still go there, despite it being fake, just as I read the ST knowing full well it is a pravda, but there is a big difference between reading in trust and mistrust.
My two cents, I hope the brotherhood resolves this problem for the sake of the underground gaming commmunity. I really do.

Darkness 2009 is right. 6 years ago, he warned that commercial gold mining will be edged out as the chinese govt is so paranoid, they will created a great wall of china to filter the internet. They pulled out. Those who remained died.
Now with TR fiasco. First they claim the some evil force is dossing them. Now they are moving to another server. I see the same pattern with what once transpired in China. Besides he has managed to convince most of the UAE, US and EU underground and pheriphery mod suppliers basing it here is a bad investment. Otherwise how can you explain the exodus to the use of Malaysian servers?
A bad investment is a bad investment. Nothing in the world can ever save a bad investment, it is like buying shares in a zombie bank. The Council of the wise of the brotherhood will be disbanding the ASDF, the ASDF, the Internet Think Tank of the brotherhood was first mooted and conceptualized by Darkness under Ordinance 3029 of the Primus Aldentes Accord in 2002. This has been annulled by a special motion yesterday. All documentations will be erased and destroyed forthwith. We see no compelling reason to maintain an archive in the form of the free internet library Board.
The Council does not see any compelling why so much resources should be devoted to the study and research of the internet in the social political sphere - the council believes the ASDF should instead be subsumed into the gaming confederation currently operated by Chingqui and its remit should be strictly directed to gaming only.

The Council is aware many of you, especially those who play the game are not happy with our recent decision to cancel Darkness and his associates gaming account. There have also been rumors of heavy handedness on the Council’s part.
I will come directly to the point.
We have no choice but to act speedily. Allow me to recount the chronological facts. Sometime in the beginning of this year, we were informed by Darkness and his associates in his own words, “it would be a good idea to establish diplomatic relationships with wayang party aka temasek review in the social political sphere.” There were other reasons, but we do not consider them pertinent to the decision making process.
Recently when the DDOS episode flared up between Temasek Review and The Strait Times – we were told for the very first time, Darkness and his crew had always suspected Temasek Review to be a “wolf in a sheep site.” You are free to draw your own conclusions as to what this really means. Our official position is this is both irrelevant and obiter.
What we do know after gaining access into Darkness personal memoirs. As he keeps this a log and it is very detailed. Form day one, he firmly believed Wayang Party site masquerading as an oppositional blog. In infiltrating Temasek Review as one of the franchise writers –
Darkness not only made full use of our network, linkages and networks. He knowingly misled the Council. He did not even seek permission for what we consider to be a very serious matter – breaching the brotherhood’s credo of neutrality.
The question is not whether Temasek Review is or is not a wolf site masquerading as a genuine site? This question is wholly sterile to us. It is a matter of profound indifference to the Council as to what a site does and how it chooses to present itself to its general audience. Or even what its agenda is in the greater scheme of things. This is not ambivalence. This is what the discipline of neutrality demands.
What the Council considers sacrosanct and above all considerations is, the brotherhood should always remain neutral. This is not a philosophical question of what is right or wrong. This is a credo that we have preserved, nourished and many of you can even say it has permeated our ethos. Neutrality has to be preserved at every cost.
As many of you already know, this is not the first time Darkness has broken our code of neutrality. But on this occasion, he has taken the matter to renewed heights that can no longer be tolerated. Despite nearly 19 attempts to negotiate with him, Darkness and his renegade crew refuse to budge from their position. Till today, they still believe, they are right.
However “right,” is not on the table. If that were really the case, even we would have to concede Darkness may have been right to have done what he believed to be right. But the paradox is when we consider the issue of neutrality against the question of righteousness, there can be no such thing as right or wrong, not even if we see wrong before our very eyes can we consider this a valid basis to breach our credo of neutrality that has served us so very well for over 1,200o years.
This may seem ethically repugnant to many of you, but I am certain as time goes by, and when all of you assume positions of responsibility in life, work and play; then hopefully all these practical necessities will testify to why we had no other choice but to deal with Darkness and his renegade crew in such a manner as we did.
We would seriously recommend that in future all our channel partners refrain from taking any position in the social political scene. Please try to see our point of view, we are not telling you what to do, as we are simply stating the obvious fact, that without keeping steadfast to our credo of neutrality. We can only exacerbate matters by confusing the underground gaming scene with politics. They should be kept separate.
The Council therefore apologizes on behalf of Darkness and his renegade crew to the owners of Temasek Review. We strongly believe given the panache and verve of the crew in Temasek Review, it will not only grow from strength to strength as a leading social political site, but it will also be am online source of excitement and entertainment that will add considerable value to many who may visit blog-o-sphere.

I am not afraid of you. My name is Inima serial No 800. I have been playing the game longer than all of you put together. I fought against Darkness during the age of typewriter in both the Ascension and Tiberium wars. 500 years ago. In those early days, there was no law and order, every man was for himself. Men were no better than animals.
I can remember one incident very clearly. It was just after we had captured nearly 300,000 Aryanians. A mix of Russians, Polish and Balkan gamers. The Council issued orders that these prisoners should be shipped off to slave camps.
In those days Darkness was just a rising star. He was well known as he had a habit of leading from the front. When his crew saw our Imperial Sardukhan indiscriminately taking target practice on these prisoners of war.
He calmly requested the name of the Sardukhan Pro-consul. When he appeared a big crowd formed as even then Darkness was well known to be the impulsive sort. Without so much as a single word, we removed his side arm and vaporized the pro-consul and at spot drafted out a crude form of the Geneva Conventions. When the Aryanian General command asked why he had done such a thing, Darkness replied, “Go home and tell your leaders, you once treated us as animals. Tell them, they have a choice, we can continue to behave like animals or like men. Go and tell them this.”

The world is but a stage – filled with innumerable illusionary plays. Being born into such a stage is no plain thing, especially in the virtual. As it can be said, it is only here that the unreal has become real.
Already we have seen how gamers have formed into cliques and then mercentile guilds. This is most apparent in the saffron route, where the Arabs are now openly trading in Oudh (wood oil), Gaharu and other paraphernalia that is common to that quadrant of the game.
Like the opening page of Charles Dicken’s “Tale of two cities” we are rapidly beginning the merging of two worlds as one reality.
Gone are the days when we can simplify our worldview by holding on to the old hat notion there is even such a thing as a new and old medium – even in the EU and US trade has successfully made the jump to the real world, Sardonxy. A mineral once prized for its ability to allow the navigation guild of the brotherhood to fold space is openly traded in ebay.

Darkness has given good reasons why he believes the Arabs, EU and US underground gamers should no longer put one brass shilling into Singapore to grow a gaming hub. In one phrase it is a very bad investment. So what is the issue with the council? To me this is the worlds dumbest idea by the council. What they are saying is, we should all base our gaming hub in singapore despite the real and present threat of doss attacks . real or not is not the point here> The why is not even given. No explanations.
Darkness and his crew had already forseen there was a possibility of something like the china firewall. He must. After their experience with the PRC, it is only natural, so they came up with a plan B.

The fact, real or imagined, there is even a 0.0001% of possibility of a DDOS attack on a site like TR. And we do not even have the network to detect it, to me is like having a hairline crack on a nuclear reactor. If any of these trade routes we regularly use even goes on the blink for one milisecond, you dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the broader implications of what this will mean.
Real or fake is not the issue here. Look what happened when one Nigerian tried and failed to blow up a plane with a box of matches. It will send fear. Drive airline stocks down. Cut travel. Put a halt to hotel bookings and tourism.
It has to be regarded as a CLEAR and PRESENT threat. From what I see what Darkness 2010 is simply doing is responding intelligently to this threat. In one phrase, it is a bad investment. I for one am certainly sticking to the Saffron route for only this one reason. In life you dont need many reasons to make an informed decision, this is one of those cases.

The Saffron Trade Route is fully online and operational, it comes with a copper clad guarantee directly from Darkness - that is as good as a promisory note from the bank of England.
Thousands of people supplement their meagre income online, with the recession, this is perhaps the only way for a man to retain his pride as head of the family as jobs are hard to come by these days.

That effectively means if ANY gamers trades online and one imperium / shekelian / linden goes missing due to a doss attack, it will be replaced by the mercantile guild within 60 minutes.

Match the offer Council. One to one. You elites have made in total 19 invitations to Darkness 2009 since this ddos nonsense exploded in Temasek review. The council has even asked him to come to the table and break bread to settle this issue. You have failed 19 times to even get him to show up even so much as once!

Dear esteemed Council of the Wise
Let us recap. What did I do to warrant a charge of treason? All I did was to state my considered opinion abt Wayang Party and why I believe it is just a Trojan horse operated by a bunch of cyber operatives bent on funnelling us netizens stuff, we would not consider worthy for reading except perhaps wrapping fish.
