The Takarazuka, Hyōgo prefecture native has starred in many popular J dramas such as Water Boys (2003), Regatta (2006), Absolute Boyfriend (2008) and Buzzer Beat (2009). Tani Momoko (谷桃子) worked as a model for Toyota and a waitress after graduating from High School. She was scouted and quickly gained favor and was elected into the 2007 Nitteligenic class, which included other top idols such as Asami Oda and Aya Kiguchi. Nitteligenic (日テレジェニック, terejenikku, an abbreviation of “Nippon TV” and “telegenic”) is an annual talent contest held by NTV. After graduating from the Nitteligenic group in 2009, Momoko has been working towards her goal of becoming an actress.
